Invention Brings Wegiq Go Aboard
Andreas Wegiq Adia Hendix is an honor student who rises Sebelas Maret
University to Korea. He and his team, Enuma Technology brought bronze medal for
his invention named SO-LI Sense on November 25, 2019.
SO-LI Sense is a prototype of assistive technology for people with vision
disabilities based on Artificial Intelligent (AI) and 3D mapping. This product
is used to guide people with vision disabilities to avoid the obstacle around
them while walking. The event to exhibit his invention is Seoul
International Invention Fair (SIIF). The event took place at COEX Hall C,
Gangnam, Seoul, South Korea on November 25 - 30, 2019. In the event, his team
also got The Special Award for Innovation from King Abdulaziz University on
November 27 – 30, 2019.
“I love all about
technology since I was in Elementary School. At that time, I was interested in
IBM PC (a computer made by International Business Machines Corporation) so I
learned it by myself. I searched on the internet in an internet café. I want to
make a technology like in a sci-fi film or a technology that is useful for
people. That is why my team and I try to make this prototype, SO-LI Sense to help people with vision disability”,
Wegiq said.
Wegiq has other inventions that bring many achievements to him. He ever
brought bronze medal from National Research Council Thailand (NRCT) and World
Invention Intellectual Property Associations (WIIPA) Grand Award for his invention
named AMPLOP BAG: a multifunction laptop bag on Thailand Inventors Day Event
that took place on February 2 – 6, 2019. He ever included into Top 20 Modena
Product Innovation Competition for his proposal to make an
environmentally-friendly dispenser.
“I hope people around me eager to work hard to rise this university in
the international competition. At least, we should go abroad at once” Wegiq added.
